Service Description

This hands-on mushing experiences is a fun and educational way to learn all about the sport of mushing! Off-season training is important for the health and happiness of our athletes, and is a crucial part of preparing for the race season. Take a Fall Cart Ride to be a musher for a day and experience the thrill of a dogsled race team! Fall Training Rides Include: - Informational lesson on all aspects of mushing - See, touch, and stand in all different types of dog sleds and carts - Meet, harness, and hook up your own team of sled dogs - 4 mile cart ride over rolling fields with Vermont's fall foliage in view - Play with our young puppies! - Relax by a campfire while you watch your friends or family ride across the rolling fields. Dry-land Training Tours are priced per two riders, as we have two seats in our custom cart. 2 Riders | 1 Hour | $200 4 Riders | 1.5 Hours | $300 6 Riders | 2.5 Hours | $500 Additional visitors who wish to watch and not ride are welcome! Children under 5 (or who can sit in a lap) are free Payment is due on date of tour Fall tours are available starting on October 1st, but are limited by weather. Rides may be cancelled or rescheduled due to rain, excessively muddy conditions, or temperatures exceeding 60°f, to prevent our dogs from overheating. We will work with you to reschedule cancellations and will contact you in advance if the weather looks grim! This is an outdoor activity with animals - come prepared in clothes that you are willing to get a little muddy. This experience takes place at our tour location on Pvt. Sheldon Lane, just outside of Middlebury, Vermont. Put Cobble Hill Kennel into google maps and you should find us. We are located at the end of the private dirt road - follow the signs to the dogs!
